Surf
Shelter, winner of the Audience Award for Best Film at this year's Melbourne Queer Film Festival, is now available on DVD. Starring Brad Rowe from Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss, Shelter is the story of a young artist/surfer in southern California coming to grips (quite literally) with his sexuality. Highly recommended. Available through from Hares and Hyenas (Fitzroy) and Out Video (St Kilda).

Music
Lorna Luft celebrates her mother's musical legacy in a one-off concert at Her Majesty's Theatre this weekend. Songs My Mother Taught Me is her award-winning tribute to Judy Garland. Luft is Garland's third child and half-sister to Liza Minnelli - though it's a brave soul that mentions Liza within earshot.
