Home bheadlines Moscow Pride update Moscow Pride update Wednesday, 11 June 2008 Amid fears of violence, brave gay Moscovites gathered in various locations across the city to celebrate Pride day last week. Held as separate protests to avoid the mass violence that occurred in previous years, gay rights activists defied a City Hall ban placed on the event. Those opposed to the event threw garbage and rotten eggs at an apartment displaying a pride banner, with dozens protesting against what they see as the eroding of traditional Russian values.
