The sexy Navy trumpet player from Australian Idol is back on the music scene with his new album The Rise, which debuted at number five in the ARIA charts last month.

Carl Riseley made the final three on the last season of Australia's most popular karaoke contest, and is now experiencing success with the album and his debut single, a cover of This Guy's In Love With You.
The 25-year-old said he wanted to create and release an album packed with songs that represented good times in his life. The album may be full of covers, but Riseley said that his Idol experience helped to shaped the unique arrangements.
While covers albums have saturated the market in recent times, Riseley feels his is an authentic collection - he did all the arrangements himself and says he was not yet ready to start releasing original material.
"I got a lot of feedback from fans on how they loved what I did with the songs and changed them up into the big band style," he tells the Sydney Star Observer.
"To be completely honest, I've only been singing for a couple of years and I never even thought about doing originals. It can be quite a fine art in arranging something. It's all new for me," he admits.
"There are no artists out there who have done this style or any of these songs in the swing style. I've got a really nice orchestra section as well as the big band."
To support the release of the new record, Riseley plans to take his live show around the country. He says fans who come along will be in for an engaging experience.
"The show will be a little bit different from Idol, but I think everyone should come along if they like the album and want to see something live. It will be a classy night out," he promises.
