You’ve seen the calendar now buy the book. Naked for a Cause has the released the Gods of Sport photography book in aid of The McGrath Foundation.

Featuring unseen images from the Naked for a Cause Australian Footballers 2008 calendar, Gods of Sport aims to give insight into the world of the footy player through the intimate photographs of Pedro Virgil.

It’s described as “a highly-charged, photographic interpretation of the naked spirit of masculinity”. Virgil’s shots take inspiration from movies like Fight Club and 300, using moody colours and subtle lighting to create a painterly effect.

The book is a collector’s item with only limited numbers on sale. The McGrath Foundation helps women diagnosed with breast cancer.
