The latest gay extravanganza to hit the world party circuit are a couple of planned motor rallies, in Europe and the USA.

Europe’s Gay Rampage will run from Brighton in England and end up seven days later at Gay Pride in Budapest, Hungary. The US rampage will follow the classic American highways from Seattle to the famous Love Fest in San Francisco.

The courses have been designed to highlight spectacular non-highway roads, and there’ll be fun challenges along the way.

Europeans will Rampage through Paris, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Berlin, Prague and Vienna in what will effectively be a large group road trip to Budapest Pride, with a party in each city.

The American Rampage kicks off in Seattle and has more of a ‘wilderness’ feel, winding through the spectacular natural scenery of Crater Lake, Oregon and Lake Tahoe in Nevada before heading via Las Vegas and Los Angeles to the grand finale in San Francisco.

Lead organiser Guy Zucker says he hopes “that there will be a growing awareness that this event is taking place, and we’re looking for local support ... especially reaching [out] to the gay community at each stage along the way".

It may be the first event of its kind but with GLBT travellers accounting for ever increasing participation in major cities and luxury vacations known to be gay-friendly destinations, it was only a matter of putting it together.
